Soccer Recap: Marian Catholic Comes Up Short

If Marian Catholic was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Richards on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans lost 4-1 to the Bloom Blazing Trojan on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Marian Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 321st, while Bloom are ranked 143rd).

Marian Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 5-15-1. As for Bloom, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Marian Catholic didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-0 defeat against Saint Viator on the 15th. As for Bloom, they are taking a road trip to take on Mother McAuley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
