Softball Recap: Concord Makes It 17 in a Row at Home

Concord's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the McCrory Jaguars a 17-0 shutout. Considering the Pirates have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Concord pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for McCrory, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord will welcome West Side at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for McCrory, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Carlisle at 4:30 p.m. McCrory has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
