Basketball Recap: Bishop Kelley Beats Collinsville for Their Third Straight Win

Bishop Kelley extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Anne Blankenship. The Bishop Kelley Comets were the clear victor by a 58-32 margin over the Collinsville Cardinals on Friday thanks in part to Blankenship, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Bishop Kelley is 4-1 when Blankenship posts eight or more rebounds, but 1-3 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Grisaffe, who posted 11 points and three steals. Grisaffe is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Anna Appelberg and Kate Reid certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Appelberg dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Reid had seven points and six rebounds.

Bishop Kelley's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-4. As for Collinsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Bishop Kelley will head out on the road to challenge Victory Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collinsville, they will welcome Claremore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Claremore has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
