Recap: Potomac Wolverines vs. Fairmont Heights Hornets
This season hasn't been kind to the Potomac Wolverines, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 47-5 loss at the hands of Fairmont Heights. Potomac was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fairmont Heights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Angela Green, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 steals for Fairmont Heights. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Green has scored at least a third of Fairmont Heights' points. Another player making a difference was Amaya May, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Potomac's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.8 points per game. As for Fairmont Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
Potomac will be playing in front of their home fans against Gwynn Park at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Gwynn Park is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. As for Fairmont Heights, they will head out on the road to square off against Douglass at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
