Babcock waltzed into their contest on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 48-19 blowout they got against the Ida Baker Bulldogs. The Trailblazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 23 points or more this season.

Among those leading the charge was Meikah Ferry, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Makena Ferry was another key player, putting up ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Ida Baker lost, don't look at Maia Berdebes. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. What's more, Berdebes also racked up four steals, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

Babcock has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.9 points per game. As for Ida Baker, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Babcock will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Moore Haven at 5:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Ida Baker, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-47 loss against Estero on the 7th.
