Basketball Recap: Wardlaw Academy Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, Wardlaw Academy was not quite Laurens Academy's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell to the Laurens Academy Crusaders 45-39. The Patriots have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Wardlaw Academy lost, don't look at Colt Bailey. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Bailey a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Jake Winn, who posted two points and six rebounds.

Wardlaw Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Laurens Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wardlaw Academy will venture away from home to square off against Cambridge Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laurens Academy, they will square off against Our Lady of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
