Basketball Recap: Lakeside Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Lakeside was handed a 42-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Benton Panthers, sneaking past 54-51. The game was the first time the Rams have beaten the Panthers on their court since February 10, 2020.

Leading Lakeside to victory were Payton Futch and Mckenzie Williams. Futch dropped a double-double with 24 points and 13 boards, while Williams went 5-for-12 on her way to 17 points and five rebounds. Futch has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 21 times she's played. Abby Davenport was another key player, putting up three points.

Lakeside has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points over those games. Benton's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8.

Looking ahead, Lakeside will welcome El Dorado at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Benton, they will venture away from home to take on Lake Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Hamilton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three games.
