Baseball Recap: King Beats Hillsborough for Their Third Straight Victory

After losing to Hillsborough the last time they met, King decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. King's pitcher stepped up to hand Hillsborough a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly two runs.

Not much got past Owen Leever, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Hillsborough off the board. What's more, Leever gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.

The win (which was King's third in a row) raised their record to 7-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Hillsborough, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Coming up, King will challenge Chamberlain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. King is facing Chamberlain at the right time seeing as Chamberlain is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hillsborough, they have already played their next match, a 12-0 loss against Steinbrenner on the 29th.
