Softball Recap: Atwater Comes Up Short

Atwater and Rocklin squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Atwater had to settle for second. They fell 7-2 to the Thunder. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Atwater saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazell Olivas, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Olivas has hit this season.

Atwater's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Rocklin, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Atwater does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rocklin, they will challenge Merced at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunder's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
