Basketball Recap: Gering Has No Trouble Against Alliance

Gering's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They took down the Alliance Bulldogs 63-49. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-46 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Alliance still got an impressive performance from Espen Lanik, who went 7 of 17 en route to 19 points. Jadon Guerra also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Gering's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Alliance, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

When Gering and Alliance next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Gering will try to stop Sidney's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Alliance will challenge Scottsbluff and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
