Softball Recap: Dawson Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sam Rayburn last Tuesday, Dawson came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Alvin Yellowjackets by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since February 28th.

Dawson's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13-1. As for Alvin, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Dawson is set to take on their familiar foe Manvel at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Alvin will square off against rival Dobie at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
