Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Morgan City

Morgan City pushed their score to eight the last time they played Cecilia, but on Saturday they couldn't quite do it again. Morgan City's pitcher stepped up to hand Cecilia a 1-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jason McCleary was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Morgan City pushed their record up to 8-18 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cecilia, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-9-1.
