Baseball Game Preview: Spring Hill Raiders vs. Independence Eagles

Spring Hill hasn't had much luck against Independence recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Spring Hill Raiders will take on the Independence Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Spring Hill is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

On Monday, Spring Hill earned an 8-5 win over Summertown.

The team relied heavily on Clay Robinson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Gary Cox, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Independence narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Friendship Christian 6-5.

Spring Hill's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Independence, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Spring Hill might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Independence when the teams last played back in March of 2021. Can Spring Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
