Shelbyville extended their winning streak to seven on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 16-5 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Meridian Hawks. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by just one run.

As for Meridian, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

For Meridian's part, Dan Enlow made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Shelbyville will head out on the road to face off against Mattoon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Meridian, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Sullivan at 4:30 p.m.
