Softball Recap: Seattle Christian's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Seattle Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chimacum Cowboys a 10-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jessica Knight made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Izzy Blase, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Sophie Gielski, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Seattle Christian pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Chimacum, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Seattle Christian beat the Cowboys by a score of 7-0 later that day.
