East Duplin Gets a Boost from Davis in 54-0 Win

Starting off the list is East Duplin's Shawn Davis, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Davis rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making three total tackles.

North Lenoir's probably not too fond of Davis given he always seems to get the better of them. Davis rushed for 121 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards the last time he and the Hawks duked it out back in October of 2023.

While Tyreek Copper delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Kinston. Nobody could stop Copper as he picked up 79 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

If history really does repeat itself, Copper might just drop another big game when he faces off against Wallace-Rose Hill on Friday. When Copper last faced the Bulldogs back in October of 2023, he picked up 162 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

James Kenan Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Hassan Kornegay

Hassan Kornegay's big game helped extend James Kenan's winning streak to seven on Friday. Kornegay wasn't messing around, making 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss). The matchup was his seventh straight with 11 or more total tackles.

James Kenan's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Kornegay and James Kenan will head out to face off against North Lenoir at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
