Baseball Recap: Malone Takes a Loss

Malone lost against Paxton back in May of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Malone Tigers fell 11-8 to the Paxton Bobcats. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jadrian Gilbert made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole five bases. Another player making a difference was Ben Proctor, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Malone's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Paxton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Coming up, Malone will look to defend their home field on Friday against Vernon at 6:00 p.m. Malone has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Paxton, they will square off against W.S. Neal at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. W.S. Neal's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Paxton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
