Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Knights vs. Iroquois Braves

The Franklin Knights will square off against the Iroquois Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Iroquois took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Franklin, who comes in off a win.

Franklin proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cochranton 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since April 13, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Drew Kockler, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Iroquois was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Rocky Grove, falling 19-4.

Iroquois saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Terry Gradler, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. Matt Kuchcinski also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Iroquois' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
