Softball Recap: Franklin Central Drops Season-High Score on Edwardsburg

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin Central). They put the hurt on the Edwardsburg Eddies with a sharp 19-5 victory on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Ava Fowler and Adelaide Hubbard did most of the damage at the plate: Fowler went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Hubbard went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Hubbard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sarah Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Franklin Central now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Edwardsburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Franklin Central will head out on the road to challenge Noblesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edwardsburg, they will face off against Lake Central at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eddies 4.1, the Indians 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
