Baseball Recap: Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Takes a Loss

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They came up short against the Speedway Sparkplugs, falling 10-2. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sparkplugs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Speedway, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-12-1. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14th (when they won 17-1).

For Speedway's part, Bradley Howard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Moore, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Gage Beiswinger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

While Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
