Basketball Game Preview: St. Genevieve Valiants vs. La Salle Lancers

St. Genevieve is 0-10 against La Salle since January of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The St. Genevieve Valiants will be playing in front of their home fans against the La Salle Lancers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in St. Genevieve's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. Genevieve beat Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary 63-58.

Meanwhile, La Salle suffered their closest loss since December 5, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Verbum Dei Jesuit by a score of 57-54. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Genevieve is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for La Salle, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

St. Genevieve came up short against La Salle when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 71-58. Thankfully for St. Genevieve, Ryan Hajjar (who went 10 of 19 on his way to 27 points and eight steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
