Wicksburg dropped down to 6-3 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 28-16 to the Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats. The Panthers lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 40-0 score last time.

Although Wicksburg took the loss, they still got scores from Teagan Fowler and Caiden Mims.

As for Trinity Presbyterian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.5 points over those games.

Trinity Presbyterian was led to victory by Land Sharpless and Tillman Clements. Sharpless threw for 258 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, while Clements gained 155 total yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Sharpless a new career-high in rushing yards (79).

Wicksburg has already played their next contest, a 49-14 win against Northside Methodist Academy on the 24th. As for Trinity Presbyterian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-14 victory against Houston Academy on the 24th.
