There's no place like home for Wellston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Golden Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
Maddie Childers was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Karly Rinehart, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Wellston's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
