Football Recap: Maclay Starts Season with Victory at Home

Maclay took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 31-6 margin over the Jefferson County Tigers. The Marauders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Beau Beshears had a dynamite game, throwing for 208 yards and three TDs on only 19 passes, while also rushing for 66 yards on only nine carries. Those 66 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Maclay also got help from Henry Richardson, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

Maclay's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB nine times. It was truly a group effort as Caden Harrell, Manny Arisso, and Abram Wildrick picked up two apiece.

Coming up, Maclay will be playing in front of their home fans against Brookwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lighthouse Private Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
