Baseball Recap: South Plaquemines Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against John Ehret on Wednesday, South Plaquemines came back down to earth. The Hurricanes fell 12-8 to the Bonnabel Bruins on Thursday.

Rod Parker and Trevontae Williams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Parker went 4-for-5 with two RBI, while Williams scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Williams is becoming a predictor of South Plaquemines' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Gavin Ballay was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases.

South Plaquemines' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8. As for Bonnabel, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bonnabel beat South Plaquemines by a score of 17-2 later that day.
