Basketball Recap: Draper APA Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Draper APA had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the San Juan Broncos by a score of 77-67. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 62-47 win the Broncos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2020.

Draper APA found their leader in sophomore Urban Baldwin, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 28 points along with seven boards and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baldwin has scored all season. Anthony Burris was another key player, putting up 16 points and seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, San Juan still got an impressive performance from Tripp Palmer, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards. The match was Palmer's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cole Duke, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.

Draper APA is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. As for San Juan, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Looking ahead, Draper APA will square off against South Sevier at 12:50 p.m. on Thursday. South Sevier will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Draper APA surely won't give up without a fight. San Juan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
