Basketball Recap: Huntingtown Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Huntingtown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 47-43 W over the Northern Patriots on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 40-29 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Northern lost, don't look at Sydney Prince. Despite the final result, she went 8-for-16 to rack up 19 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Prince a new career-high in shooting accuracy (50%). Erin Murphy was another key player, putting up three points and five rebounds.

Huntingtown pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. As for Northern, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Coming up, Huntingtown will welcome Lackey at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Huntingtown is facing Lackey at the right time seeing as Lackey is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Northern, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-19 loss against Allegany on the 15th.
