Football Game Preview: Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks vs. Athens Red Hawks

The Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Athens Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Athens took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bloomfield Hills, who comes in off a win.

Bloomfield Hills' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 38-0 victory over Pontiac. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Black Hawks considering their seven-point performance the game before.

Meanwhile, Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 40-21 to North Farmington. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Raiders are ranked 154th).

Bloomfield Hills will need to focus on slowing down Grayson Conrad, one of several Athens players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 92 receiving yards and one score. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Dunlap, who threw for 218 yards and a pair of TDs.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bloomfield Hills, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Bloomfield Hills couldn't quite finish off Athens when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 28-25. Can the Black Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
