Basketball Recap: Russell Beats Morgan County for Their Third Straight Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Russell rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Morgan County Cougars 61-35. The victory was familiar territory for the Red Devils, who have now won three games in a row.

Russell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamryn Fleming, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Those 16 points gave Fleming a new career-high. Gabby Oborne was another key player, putting up 15 points and six boards.

Russell's record now sits at 24-7. As for Morgan County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-18.

Looking ahead, Russell will take on Menifee County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Menifee County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches. Morgan County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
