Volleyball Recap: Jasmine Cortinas Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Donna North

Lopez won the last time they faced Donna North and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lobos were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Chiefs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-6, 25-17.

Lopez's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jasmine Cortinas led the charge by getting 12 kills, four digs, and four aces. That's the most aces Cortinas has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Pilar Martinez, who had 13 digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Lopez was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Lopez's record now sits at 10-4. As for Donna North, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Lopez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Harvest Christian on the 29th. As for Donna North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Hidalgo Early College on the 29th.
