Basketball Game Preview: Howard Huskies vs. Westside Patriots

The Howard Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Westside Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Howard opened the new year with a less-than-successful 62-51 defeat to Baldwin. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Westside had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They greeted the New Year with with a 60-42 win over the Rebels. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Rebels are ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Howard's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Westside, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
