The Eureka Loggers and the McKinleyville Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Eureka Loggers had to settle for second. They took a 74-57 bruising from the Panthers. Eureka's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Eureka's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jahmil Rippy, who scored nine points along with two steals. Nelson Botzler-Washington was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.

Leading McKinleyville to victory were Bode Douglass and Flynn Creighton. Douglass scored 20 points, while Creighton scored 19 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Creighton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Armstrong, who scored nine points along with three steals.

Eureka has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-14 record this season. As for McKinleyville, their win bumped their record up to 19-11.
