Basketball Recap: Coolidge Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Coolidge had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks with a 37-31 win on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won ten matchups in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coolidge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alaysia White, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. White has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 48 times she's played. Amaira Miguel was another key player, putting up six points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Coolidge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Yuma Catholic still got an impressive performance from Amanda Wiley, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds. What's more, Wiley also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024.

Coolidge's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Yuma Catholic, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-8.

Looking ahead, Coolidge will challenge Chinle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coolidge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season. Yuma Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
