St. Charles East has gone 8-1-1 against Lake Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Fighting Saints will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 10:00 p.m. The timing is sure in St. Charles East's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Lake Park has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

St. Charles East fell victim to Wheaton North and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Fighting Saints have suffered since March 22nd.

Meanwhile, Lake Park didn't have quite enough to beat Geneva on Wednesday and fell 2-1.

Lake Park got a good showing from Lucas Frankel, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Frankel gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had over his last four contests.

On the hitting side, Lake Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robert Munaco, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

St. Charles East's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-7. As for Lake Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Charles East has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lake Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

St. Charles East came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Park when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Fighting Saints repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
