Basketball Game Preview: Lutheran Lions vs. Air Academy Kadets

The Lutheran Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Air Academy Kadets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Lutheran sitting on five straight wins and Air Academy on 21.

Lutheran is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Pueblo County: they outscored them in every quarter. Lutheran took down Pueblo County 47-31 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly 16 points.

Meanwhile, Air Academy humbled Palmer Ridge with a 69-25 victory. The Kadets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 games by 24 points or more this season.

Air Academy's victory was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.4 points. As for Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

Lutheran came up short against Air Academy in their previous meeting back in January, falling 54-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Air Academy's Kinley Asp, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 17 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.
