Basketball Recap: Centura Extends Winning Streak to Five

Centura came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Ravenna Bluejays as they made off with a 41-21 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Centurions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centura to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kennedy Davis, who posted 11 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Taya Taukiuvea was another key player, putting up five points in addition to ten boards and seven steals.

Centura smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Ravenna had strong showings from Reannon Siegel, who scored three points and six steals, and Breckyn Wick, who earned six points. The dominant performance gave Siegel a new career-high in steals.

Centura has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points per game. As for Ravenna, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, Centura and Ravenna will both be playing St. Paul the next time they take the court. Centura will host St. Paul at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Ravenna will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th.
