Volleyball Recap: Page Takes Down Ranked Blackman

Page faced Blackman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Blaze 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in March.

Page was led to victory by Carlos Hernandez and Malachi Carter. Hernandez had 12 digs and one assist, while Carter had six digs and three aces. That's the most digs Hernandez has posted over his last seven games. Landon Boyd also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Page has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Blackman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Page wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Siegel on the 8th. Hopefully Blackman paid attention to the Patriots' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Patriots at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.
