Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is South Atlanta's 11th in Last 13 Outings

South Atlanta had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down the Kendrick Cherokees 66-47 on Wednesday. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Cherokees are ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading South Atlanta to victory were Duor Duor and Bol Deng. Duor dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Deng went 6-for-10 en route to 13 points in addition to five boards and four blocks. That's the most points Duor has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Drew Clark, who scored seven points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.

South Atlanta is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Kendrick and nudges their season record down to 15-12.

South Atlanta has already played their next contest, a 48-38 defeat against Laney on the 22nd. Kendrick does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
