Basketball Recap: Westminster Wins Going Away Against Lakewood + How To Watch

Westminster barely beat Lakewood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 71-48 margin over the Tigers on Thursday. Fans of the Wolves have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

William Stoddard had an outrageously good game as he shot 44% from the field to rack up 30 points and six steals. Those 30 points gave him a new career-high. Dennis Ross was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 19 rebounds.

Westminster smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Defeat or not, Lakewood got some senior leadership from Ben Kerchner and Quinn Lee. Kerchner posted 20 points and six boards, while Lee put up 12 points.

Westminster's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Westminster will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakewood, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-56 defeat against D'Evelyn on the 6th.
