Recap: Crescent Tigers vs. Walhalla Razorbacks
The Crescent Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 66-59 to Walhalla. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Defeat or not, Crescent got some senior leadership from Brody Linker and Josh Airline. Linker dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds, while Airline. scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiantae Parks, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Crescent were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Walhalla got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Williams out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Ander Hunnicutt was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Crescent's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Walhalla, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crescent will face off against Pendleton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pendleton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday. Walhalla on the road again on Friday and play against West-Oak at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. West-Oak has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
