Softball Game Preview: Carroll Eagles vs. Samson Tigers

The Carroll Eagles will face off against the Samson Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Carroll not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th. They put the hurt on Samson with a sharp 13-4 victory.

The team relied heavily on Makynzye Bonner, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Nevaeh Landrum was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Carroll was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive games.

Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. Samson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Carroll hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .356. However, it's not like Samson struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
