Football Recap: Danbury Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Danbury's offense. They were outmatched by the Palacios Sharks and fell 55-0. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Palacios' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Austin Martinez led the charge by rushing for 190 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. Martinez's longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Alex Weaver, who rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Danbury fell to 2-1. As for Palacios, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Danbury will head out on the road to challenge Louise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. After each having a week off, Palacios and West Oso will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. This will be the Sharks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
