Basketball Recap: Hoehne Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kim/Branson, Hoehne was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They managed a 64-60 win over the Sierra Grande Panthers. This was payback for the Farmers, who suffered a 45-43 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Nathan Zamora had an outrageously good game as he went 7-for-14 on his way to 18 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Levon Bachicha, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Hoehne was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They racked up six more assists than Sierra Grande's also-impressive total of 12.

Despite the loss, Sierra Grande still got an impressive performance from Jadyn Martinez, who went 11-for-19 to rack up 29 points and six rebounds. Martinez's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Rolando Najera was another key player, putting up seven points along with ten boards and five steals.

Hoehne now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Sierra Grande, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.

Hoehne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-56 defeat against Swallows Charter Academy on the 14th. As for Sierra Grande, they have also already played their next matchup, a 44-31 victory against Sangre de Cristo on the 14th.
