Volleyball Recap: Potter-Dix Has No Trouble Against Leyton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hay Springs, Potter-Dix was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Leyton Warriors with a sharp 3-0 victory. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Coyotes yet this season.

While Potter-Dix won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-22.

Potter-Dix can attribute much of their success to Madison Frerichs, who had five digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Frerichs a new career-high.

Frerichs wasn't the only good server: Potter-Dix was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Potter-Dix's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Leyton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Potter-Dix will take on Paxton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leyton, they will square off against Bayard on Tuesday.
