Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Trevor Peyton and Nic Sanchez Lead Rincon/University to Victory

Marana typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Rincon/University proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Tigers. The victory was nothing new for the Rangers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Rincon/University got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 30-32, 25-23.

Leading Rincon/University to victory were Nic Sanchez and Trevor Peyton. Sanchez had 26 digs, while Peyton had six digs. Those 26 digs gave Sanchez a new career-high. Brennan McGoldrick-Doty also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

Rincon/University pushed their record up to 19-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Marana, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Rincon/University didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Tucson High Magnet School on the 18th. As for Marana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Sunnyside on the 18th.
