Softball Recap: Morningside Academy Eagles vs. Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds

After flying high against Synergy Magnet K12 last Tuesday, Morningside Academy came back down to earth. The Morningside Academy Eagles fell 11-6 to the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds on Thursday. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leigha Race was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
