Basketball Recap: Magruder Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Magruder can now relate to. They took a blow against the Sherwood Warriors on Tuesday, falling 77-42. The Colonels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-20.

Several Colonels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zeke Dabbondanza, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 10 points. Gerald Suarez was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Magruder dropped their record down to 13-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Sherwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

Magruder does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sherwood, they will challenge Blake on Thursday. One thing working in Blake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
