Basketball Game Preview: Murtaugh Red Devils vs. Glenns Ferry Pilots

Murtaugh is on a three-game streak of home losses, Glenns Ferry a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Wednesday. The Murtaugh Red Devils will host the Glenns Ferry Pilots at 7:30 p.m. Glenns Ferry took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Murtaugh, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Murtaugh turned things around against Shoshone on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 38-21 win over the Indians. The Red Devils pushed the score to 31-11 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Glenns Ferry was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 47-42 to Adrian. While the Pilots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Antelopes 9-4 in the first quarter.

Murtaugh will need focus on slowing down Maddie Spriggs, one of several Glenns Ferry players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 22 points and six rebounds. Spriggs has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zeidy Reynaga, who scored ten points.

Even though they lost, Glenns Ferry smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Murtaugh's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Glenns Ferry, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9.

Murtaugh and Glenns Ferry were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting on January 7th, but Murtaugh came up empty-handed after a 34-33 loss.
