Softball Recap: Midland Takes a Loss

Midland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 6-1 to the Henry-Senachwine Mallards. If the Timberwolves were looking for revenge after losing 17-0 to the Mallards when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Maggie Dorsey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Sophia Coccia also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Midland's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Henry-Senachwine, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Midland will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Henry-Senachwine, they will take on Marquette at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Mallards surely won't give up without a fight.
