Wes-Del hasn't had much luck against Yorktown recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Yorktown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wes-Del, who comes in off a win.
While Wes-Del's victory against Seton Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors skirted past the Cardinals 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won five in a row.

Carter Flynn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Wes-Del: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-10 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Wes-Del got a great performance from Jodan King as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.
Back at the plate, Tyler Summers was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Wes-Del is 2-1 when Summers posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-9 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Yorktown suffered their biggest loss since April 10th on Wednesday. They lost 12-1 to Shelbyville. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Golden Bears: they've now lost four in a row.
Yorktown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reid Turner, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Wes-Del's record is now 6-10. As for Yorktown, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Wes-Del might still be hurting after the 12-6 loss they got from Yorktown when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
